Well...apparently Hell has frozen over. The Two Guys from Andromeda have reunited and are hoping to create an all-new "SpaceVenture" game -- and they need your help! A Kickstarter campaign to fund this project is underway, and even though we're more than halfway there, we've only got a little over a week to make the $500,000 goal. If you've got some cash to spare and love the SQ series, please pitch in! Come on, folks -- if the first Leisure Suit Larry game can get enough funding for another remake, I know the Two Guys can get enough support to make a comedy sci-fi game with the same flavor as the classic SQ games. Let's do this.

Sorry for the long lack of an update. I haven't come up with any good comic ideas in a while.

There is good news, however: I have finally completed my first adventure game made in Adventure Game Studio. It is mostly a tribute to classic adventure games, and naturally, Space Quest and Roger Wilco make an appearance. Visit its page here.

Okay, the strip has gone long enough without updates, so now it's time for my latest excuse:

I do have several more strips scripted, but I'm currently involved in a large project (that involves SQ to a very small degree) that's taking up most of my free time. I don't know when I'll complete it, but rest assured that Who Says Space Quest Is Dead (Contd.) is not dead. Eventually, more strips will come.

After a month of almost nonstop work, I've finally completed my first adventure game...in Flash 5. It's a pretty short, simple game, but I'm happy with the way it turned out. Keep an eye out for a familiar character making a cameo appearance ;) - Area 50.5

I've finally gotten enough strips done to start updating regularly again. Sorry about the long wait. Strip #250 will be coming out later this year, so be prepared, since I'm still keeping the tradition of doing something exciting and different in every 50th strip.

February 20, 2007
Just updating to let everyone know that I have NOT forgotten the strip. I've got a traditional "Semicentennial Special" lined up for Strip #250, but I have yet to come up with ideas for Strips 239 through 249. I'm not uploading any new strips until I complete all ten strips so that there are no gaps between weekly uploads. Just be patient; I should soon be back on track.

Prior to today, not all of the injokes and references I've included in the comic strips have been listed. Now, however, they are: I've explained every single cameo/in-joke/reference/parody/whatnot that appears in each comic. In case you still want to figure out the in-joke/reference on your own, they have been effectively concealed, so you don't need to read them if you don't want to.

I have deleted the button leading to the SS Gallery because I'm no longer updating it and a lot of the art in it has become so old that it doesn't "represent" me in an ideal manner any longer. The page is still there, I've just removed all links leading to it. (If you don't know the URL and really want to see it, you'll have to dig in the Untouchables section of my main website.)

Amazingly, I've just completed my first Space Quest fanfic that doesn't have Xandra in it! Click here to read it.

I've changed the main page somewhat. Nothing major, and nothing that can't be looked at again via The Internet Wayback Archive.

Also, more SQ music video goodness here (it's not mine, I'm just spreading the word).

April 19, 2006
For those of you that missed it, I have created a little musical montage of a few classic Wilconian moments here (7.6 MB). It was fun to make, and it didn't distract me entirely from updating this site, which is good.

As some of you might have noticed, something was amiss with Strips #197-8 recently. There were no comics to be seen, short errors appeared, and the descriptions for the comics consisted of “candy@hotmail.com” and “Peru”. The titles had changed to "http://xdirectory.info/infiniti-g35" and “Ann Devon” as well.

This was not an April Fool’s gag. I didn’t do this, and I suspect that the site was probably invaded by a spambot, since the guestbook was also full of entries with the same sort of garbage. I managed to clean everything up (what else should the creator of a comic strip with a janitor as the protagonist expect to do?), and hopefully something like this won’t happen again anytime soon.

However, I also screwed up some of the more vital files while I was tidying things and consequently wiped out most of the comic pages, but luckily, I had a backup on hand, so no major damage occurred.

And now, the moment you've all been waiting for: the excuse for no comics being uploaded this month.

To make a long story short, I found out the hard way that editing lights in a Bryce 4 scene causes the scene to become corrupted. Consequently, I lost one of my main versions of Roger's room, and I've slowly been rebuilding it. I wasn't in much of a creative mood before this happened, and having to painstakingly reconstruct a 3D scene hasn't helped my mood. Still, I have a comic or two in the works, and they should show up eventually.

I apologise for not updating the strip for some time. I wish I could say that I am going to start uploading new strips on a regular basis, but I can’t. I have lately been running short on ideas, time, and motivation. I will try to come out with new strips, but I regret to say that they will not be coming out on a weekly basis. I am sorry that this has to be, but there are a lot of things occupying my life now.

Greetings, fellow SQ fans! Today is a day of very good news. One of the kind people from GGC Media was thoughtful enough to give this site a complete overhaul. This means that the comics will be easier for visitors to view and easier for me to upload. There are still a few minor things that I'm getting straightened out (since for me, PHP is, as I've mentioned before, an unusual, elusive concept), but I should hopefully have full control of this site.

Thanks again to Justas for taking time out of his schedule to give WSSQUID a fresh, new look.

Created an archive page to make browsing the Dialup-Friendly section less tedious. Behold the clever titles I have given each strip!

August 27, 2004
Trying out something new: A Dialup-Friendly Comic Page Format. The pages with ten strips each will remain the same, but I've uploaded over 150 pages that house one comic each, all made with my own little hands. Here's the latest comic (which also appears on this page), and here's the very first comic if you want to begin your dialup-friendly journey from there. Let me know if there's anything you think this one-comic-per-page format needs.

I redesigned the page, then something happened and the redesigned page vanished, leaving just the not-so-great former layout. I've tried my best to recreate the design I had before whatever it was happened.

I also moved the Sierra Siblings page to Web1000, which has kindly allowed users to host MP3s, which is not the way it was before, and since I have a five second MP3 on page one of the SSG, I've been unable to host it here, which is why I've been forcing people to visit a pop-up-laden Tripod page. Hopefully the SS Gallery will remain here from now on.

I'm experiencing a bit of an idea shortage at the moment, it will take some time to get back in the swing of things. Interesting news, however. The owner of GamesTalks.com has added this site to his page. You really have to dig for it, but it's there. Since turnabout is considered fairplay, I'm putting a button that links to Gamestalk under my Links section.

Thanks to an anonymous hacker, I have been unable to upload any strips for the last few weeks. Everything seems to be in order now. It'll take a while for me to get back on track, though.

I'm trying out a new feature: a Comments/Critique Cache (okay, it's just a guestbook, I confess. I wanted a fancier title). This is an easy and convenient way for guests to tell me what they think of the WSSQUID Contd. strips, the original WSSQUID story, the Sierra Siblings Gallery and the site in general...within reason, of course. The WSSQID Comments/Critique Cache is right below the strip page links. Have fun.

Happy Holidays! As a little present, here's some fun with Space Quest/Monkey Island sound collages... Roger meets Guybrush: A Family Reunion??

June 3, 2003
Two more additions to the site: an old news page, and a very long-winded explanation to why Xandra is blonde in my profile picture. "What's up with that?"

February 7, 2003
Belated Happy New Year (Western and Eastern, Jan. 1st and Feb. 1st, respectively)! I've recieved what I interpreted as complaints about the unhaltable constantly looping music on the pages (which can be stopped by just pressing the "Stop" button on your Internet browser, but I guess that's not working for some people). So I've installed more complete media players on the strip pages, with Play, Pause and Stop controls. The music still loops, but this time you can stop it if you don't like it. So much for freedom of taste.

It was inevitable. It was imminent. And it's happened. What's happened, you ask? Well, in case you haven't noticed,

WSSQID..HAS..MOVED!!!!!!

Well, that was fun. Anyway, the site's new address is here, at http://wssqid.web1000.com. Thanks to everyone who helped me get this thing together! Enjoy the new site...er....make that the site's new location.

August 3, 2002
Another little text treat for the site. A list of Sierra games that Xandra could've chosen instead of SQ but didn't, and the reasons why...Come on, she looks like a feline Passionate Patti, so why didn't she choose Larry Laffer instead of Roger? Find out for yourself.

May 4, 2002
Major refurbishing of the Original WSSQUID! I've converted every page to basic HTML instead of that horrific MS Word format. This may help the pages load faster and fix a few problems that some people have been having in viweing them. I also removed a "questionable" word from one of the pages and fixed a few typos.

March 23, 2002
I have created a button for people who want to have a colorful link to this site. I don't think you can link to it, you have to download it and upload it to your site. And I wish I could do that fancy trick where the HTML is displayed in a text format on this page so you know how to link here, but..oh well. I'm just too busy. Here's the graphic.

March 21, 2002
What luck! I picked up Freddy Pharkas Frontier Pharmacist and Woodruff and the Schnibble of Azimuth at a computer show for nine dollars. I celebrate this event by posting a very tasteless picture of Xandra (well, tasteless as far as she can be) in the Gallery. Hey, this is my way of saying "these games are terrif!"
And there's even more good fortune with all these rumors popping up. I know they may be just rumors, but some may disagree. And for those who don't entirely...
I won't say "I told you so," that would just be way too low.
But this thing sure is far from done, and for now I'd say...
...It's just begun.

January 13, 2002
I have written a "sequel" to WSSQUID! It's not illustrated, I'm sad to say, but it (hopefully) contains the same riotous humor and slapstick that the original big W contained, wherein Xandra is faced with a crime of large proportions, and the only people to stand behind her are her victims. What wil be the outcome? Who can say?...It's judgment time.

December 21, 2001
Happy Christmas in T-minus 4 days and counting...and I have finally gotten to Strip Number 60! This is definately a turning point. I've also moved most of the added-on pictures on the Xandra's Origins page to the new Sierra Siblings Gallery Page.

November 29, 2001
Happy 6th Anniversary to the Virtual Broomcloset! I have removed the "Far From Done..." banners at the request of a certain fan. Let me know if that makes the page more or less appealing.

October 15, 2001
I've added a link to the Xandra's Origins page so that people don't have to go to the first page of the Original WSSQUID to get to it.

September 21, 2001
I have added music to all of the pages. The titles are at the bottom of the page. I have started school, so expect a major comic strip shortage for a few months. I apologize for all you fanatics out there.
Also, I am very sorry to hear about what has happened in New York City. I wish all the families involved in this tragedy well.

September 1, 2001
I am adding descriptions to the comics as well as labelling them so that visitors know which number comic they are viewing. Some members from the Subspace Channel who were kind enough to comment on my creations are mentioned.
