"Hey, I'm serious, guys. You use those lines
in your game, and I will sue you."

Here's a collection of sound files that didn't make it into SQ6 (and the SQ6 demo), for one reason or another. Some of these MIGHT have appeared in the game, but probably I overlooked them. If you've heard any of these files in the actual game, please let me know.

Update (April 25, 2006): Added more sounds and sorted all sounds by location. Some of these lines are listed in the SQ6 and the SQ6 demo text files, while others aren't. I've marked the unlisted ones with a *.)

Polysorbate LX

Both of these LOOK and HANDS messages were left out of the game. So that's what those stains were...(Orion's Belt, second floor)

Another pair of descriptions cut from the game: This one describes the rubber duck in Nigel and Singent's apartment, and this is what the narrator says if you try to take it.

The door to the arcade doesn't seem to appear in the game, actually.

A nice cautionary comment which I can't seem to trigger by playing with the flaming barrels outside Orion's Belt.

Despite the line's comment that says that it plays while Roger is next to the racing machine in the arcade, I've never gotten it to play.

Cut remark from the narrator, presumably when you try to communicate with one of the aliens in the arcade.

I've poked around the arcade, but I haven't been able to find anything to trigger this wonderfully disgusting message.

Never let it be said that Roger Wilco was never concerned about his respiratory health. (interacting with one of the aliens in the arcade)

Aside from the descritions of the characters, there are no descriptions of the Stooge Fighter III game, which is too bad, otherwise we would have gotten amusing observations like this from the narrator.

I have no idea what this message is describing...and frankly, I found it a little hard to follow as well. (by Orion's Belt and Arcade)

This is an odd one. It sounds like a message that plays when you try having your picture taken in the photo booth again, which is impossible, since it skitters away after you use it and never appears again. There's another message that makes it sound like you can revisit the second floor of the Dew Beam Inn after being kidnapped (again, not possible).

You'd expect to hear this message after incapacitating Singent and getting his keyring, but you just get the generic "touch" message instead.

Fester tries to explain the less-than-pristine loo/k of his display case. (Implants-n-Stuff)

EDIT (12-14-13): The "loopy doofus" line actually does appear in-game, but on the upper floor of the Dew Beam Inn, not the Stooge Fighter III machine. The sections of audio for these two rooms are back-to-back, and the cigarettes in the machine's change return slot made me think that this line was associated with that room.

DeepShip 86

Dorff in one of his "surfer dude" moments.

A cut description of Roger's musings on Sidney's detached arm. (8-Rear)*

Kielbasa doing his Jebba the Hop imitation, and making a major whoopsie in his message for Roger. Listen carefully. (Roger's Quarters)

A hilarious description of the overhead light at the Mr. Soylent, which was strangely cut from the game.

A conversation between Dorff and Roger...it may appear in the game, but I haven't found out under which circumstances it does. (brig)

A comment by the narrator when Roger tries talking to support tower F9 (and apparently gets a response). (shuttlebay)

Maybe this description of Roger's trash can (plus all other messages associated with it) was removed because it would seem redundant with the similar cameo in Implants-n-Stuff. (Roger's Quarters)

The funeral originally had more narration than it did in the final game (the last voice is the Holochaplain almost getting sucked out into space).

Shuttle

A different commentary by Roger and the Narrator on the state of the divalium crystal (there is also a variation on the second line where the narrator says "He's had to repair a lot of stuff he's broken..." instead).

As world-weary as Roger tends to be, he still has his moments of childlike wonder (cut description of one of the several views from the cockpit).

Delta Burksilon

We might've gotten this message if we used the EYES cursor on Sharpei. But the Fates didn't smile upon us this time...

Gary Owens didn't really need to reuse this line...but it's in the resource file, what can I say?

A variation on Roger and Dr. Bellaux's discussion on saving Stellar.

Roger and Bellaux's discussion, contd.

A variation on Roger's escape from Sharpei's room.

Another variation on Roger's escape. Yes, I know it's strange.

Cyberspace

A cut description of one of the guys in the office.

Roger, in a moment of adventure game anxiety (office).

Roger Wilco - Easily Amazed. You'd think he'd say this when the hanging number card and the number changer have the same numbers, but he doesn't. (office)

The more jokes like this I "get" as I play and replay this game, the more ridiculous that comment on MobyGames complaining at how "family-friendly" Roger is gets. (office).

Apparently, this pen used to be an inventory item (see Miscellaneous), probably disregarded because it was pretty much useless. (outside office)

EDIT (12-14-13): The three crossed-out entries actually DO make an in-game appearance; they're just really hard to trigger. I've gotten them to fire by touching the number changer after adjusting it, entering the file room, then quickly returning before the number changes from 3 to 4 (yes -- Roger says "Isn't it cool the way the number card on the wall matches the number changer?" when the card and the changer don't match). They appear randomly, and sometimes Roger just opens up the number changer instead. I suspect the "puzzles" line was intended to appear before Roger gains access to the file room, since it doesn't really make sense for him to complain about a puzzle he's already solved.

Stellar

Roger and the narrator argue. I've tried in vain to get them into an understandable order (with the exception of #3). Feel free to suggest how YOU think they should be arranged. (inside stomach)

After looking at the SQ6 script, I've determined that the sound files are meant to be played in this order:
#1 #2 #5 #4 #6 #3

Some narration that really wasn't needed...for several reasons. (nose)

A cute bit of wordplay, can't imagine why this was cut (meninges)

Hmm. I wonder why this was scrapped. (inner brain)

Roger doesn't feel so good (gallbladder)

The first line is used in the game...but the second one wasn't...and it sure should've been, darn it! (appendix)*

Some unused lines from Roger referring to Sharpei right before she grabs him, after he gives her what ends up killing her, and after she has expired. (inner brain)

The descriptions for the larynx aren't in the game. Here's what the narrator says when you look at it and try to touch it. The description of the epiglottis was left out as well (touch response) (esophagus)

I thought this line was in the game, but I can't find a way to hear it now. (gallbladder)

Roger's reaction upon arriving inside Stellar.

A death message of unknown origin. Since the comment beside in in the script says "death by ???", I'm guessing that whoever was editing the script didn't know where it came from either!

Gary Owens saying one of Roger's lines! (demo, gallbladder)

Gary Owens saying one of Sharpei's lines! (demo, inner brain)

Miscellaneous

William Hall (Roger's voice actor) reminds us that he is only human.*

A death message voiceover from Roger?? That doesn't seem quite right (Demo, Roger's Quarters).

Another death message voiceover by Roger. Back from the dead? (Demo, Roger's Quarters)

Roger gives the player some advice from a psycholocial standpoint. (demo, shuttle)*

The "gun" you create in the endgame must have been an inventory item at one point...though I don't see how a bundle of detached nerves would produce electricity.

A description of the nerves when they were designed to be an inventory item.

For some reason, the grooming assistant has the same "look" message as the hair you later pull from it. This message never made it into the game.

The description for the Churlish moddie label, which got replaced by a generic "look" message.

Of all the inventory items without specific descriptions, why did the fish have to be one of them?? That fish almost qualified as a sidekick, for crying out loud. (look, touch)

A rag and a pen were two inventory items that must have been dropped from gameplay fairly early on.

An addition to Roger's list of things that turn the lights on or off via the ClapMaster. (demo)*

A scrapped narrative of one of Roger's many fatal missteps. (demo, Roger's Quarters)

This item's description didn't make it into the game; you just get a generic "look" message when you look at the full helmet.
